Two weeks in Rhode Island

Back in June I spent 2 weeks visiting with my sister Dot and all the family in RI. Had not seen my sister in 3 years since our family reunion. Landed at Green Airport just a little after midnight on June 20th. Walking outside the hot humid air hit me like a blast furnace I had not had that experience for a long time. It didn't get any better in the 2 weeks I was there.I rained about 5 times while I was there and with the rain came more humidity. Those of you who live in the humidity know what I am talking about. I knew when I went back I wanted to eat all the great food I couldn't get in California. Sure we have lobster, crab and other great seafood here but not like in Little Rhody.First on the list was the hot wierners, not just a "hot dog" really they are weirners. The price like all things has gone up. I remember when they were 10cents, guess how old I am?? Anyway you have to eat them "all the way" as we say when ordering. Mustard,"the"brown sauce and onions,I unfortunatley can not eat raw onions anymore. I had 3 and delighted in every bite. My wiener taste buds were satisfied. On to other tasty delights. Next on the agenda visiting the Carousel in Riverside wher Tom and I met 49 years ago June 23. Still like I remember it and brought back so many wonderful memories, not only then but as a child when my older sisters would take the younger brothers and myself to Crescent Park. So many changes over the years but so very glad that they kept the "merry-go-round" as we use to call it. And of course the clam cakes. The clam cakes and chowder are the best there and I had my fill and enjoyed every bite. It brought back great memories of my visits there and enjoying it with family was even better. More to come
